Auschwitz Liberation Remembrance Day

January 27, 2025 marks the eightieth anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz extermination camp.

On this day of commemoration and remembrance, I invite you to dedicate a few minutes of your thoughts to the memory of the six million Jews who were the innocent victims of Nazi barbarism.
Unfortunately, anti-Semitism has not yet been eradicated from the face of the earth, as demonstrated by the resurgence of movements advocating the elimination of the Jewish race, such as Hamas and Hezbollah, to name but a few.

I take this opportunity, once again, to express my indignation at the decision of European leaders to deny the existence of the horrors committed by Nazi Germany during the Second World War by removing the date of May 8, the day of the German surrender in 1945, from the list of official public holidays, while these same leaders continue to observe November 11 each year as a day of remembrance.

What hypocrisy!
